- In the deciding Game 5 of the series, Francis Arnaiz' go-ahead layup gave the Tamaraws a 94-90 edge with 16 seconds left in regulation, U/tex timeout, Wranglers import Aaron James scored two points unmolested, time down to 11 seconds, Toyota up, 94-92, Glen McDonald stole the ball from a crosscourt pass by Arnie Tuadles, McDonald was fouled by Arnaiz as he was attempting a layup. McDonald hit both free throws, forcing overtime at 94-all.
